Smart Construction Machinery
The challenges for modern construction machinery are steadily increasing. Thus, in view of the finite resources of fossil fuels like oil and gas, prices for energy can be expected to rise steadily in the future. Also, construction machinery needs to complete difficult tasks in ever shorter periods of time and with higher accuracy. This leads to an ever-increasing burden on the machine operators, thus the risk of errors caused by overwork inevitably grows. To increase productivity, accuracy and safety while reducing the energy consumption and pressure on the machine operator, new ways must be explored.
The training creates prerequisites for the successful development of competitive advantages of your business and increases your company's technological lead. The training is pointing out to the participants a possible way for Construction Vehicles to successfully master future challenges.
For this purpose, the participants will be introduced to the ways towards "intelligent construction vehicles" with the help of robotic technologies. This training does not claim to be encompassing all aspects of building intelligent construction vehicles machines detail. It rather provides an orientation on this extensive topic and strategy-decision, direction and foundation. For a deeper insight into this topic we suggest our basic and specialized training courses as well as our general range of seminars.

at least 20 participants |
Seminar content: |
This section will introduce sensor errors and software methods to measure them and to reduce them by sensor calibration or filtering. 1. Sensor error types 2. Statistical sensor error analysis 3. Timing and interpolation 4. Sensor calibration Determining the pose of the mobile robot if often essential for autonomous behaviors. This section will introduce modern sensor fusion concepts and algorithms upon which localization solutions can be built. 1. Sensor classes 2. Sensor error handling 3. Coordinate transformations and 3D rotation representations 4. Statistical sensor fusion algorithms from the Bayes family 5. Localization with maps Autonomous behavior often means staying on or finding a specific path while avoiding obstacles. This section will present software methods that can be used for these purposes. 1. Curved trajectories built on user-defined GPS way points 2. Local mapping for motion planning 3. Local path planning and obstacle avoidance methods |
Overview of robotic technology
Goal of this seminar is to give participants a good overview of the current state of affairs in robotic technology.
After visiting this seminar, they should be able to develop ideas on which components of robotic technology might be put into their own products.
